Modelled stocks of organic carbon in the 0-30 cm soil layer (t per ha) - Recent soil data

This dataset contains a multiband grid covering Flanders with modelled values for the stocks of organic kosltof in the 0-30 cm soil layer, with a spatial resolution of 10 × 10 m. In addition to the expected value, the 5% and 95% percentiles are also included. In addition, the root mean squared prediction error RMSPE is available through the download and web services. The map layers are drawn up via digital soil mapping, based on point observations and area-covering predictor layers. The current dataset is based on data from the first four working years (2021-2025) of the Flemish soil carbon monitoring network Cmon (https://omgeving.vlaanderen.be/nl/climate-and-environment/soil-and-subsoil/Flemish-carbon monitoring-how much-carbon-sit-in-the-soil). The dataset shall be updated whenever new data becomes available from the Cmon network. Although modelled soil properties can never replace terrain sampling with associated soil analysis, they provide practical support for preliminary research or basic data for area-wide modelling.
