Under the Energy Efficiency Directive and the Renewable Energy Directive, EU Member States were required to submit national heating and cooling figures and plans by the end of June 2024. This is in line with the European Energy Union strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The main products are maps for the territory of Flanders with heat demand at the level of municipalities and statistical sectors, maps of existing and planned heat networks and finally also the locations of potential heat supply points.
